Nature Biomedical Engineering published the latest research led by Prof. Ying Zhang and Prof. Hao Yin's team

On July 27 2023, a research team led by Prof. Ying Zhang and Prof. Hao Yin, Medical Research Institute and Frontier Science Center for lmmunology and Metabolism of Wuhan University, published its latest findings in Nature Biomedical Engineering, titiled "Enhancement of the viability of T cells electroporated with DNA via osmotic dampening of the DNA-sensing cGAS-STING pathway".

The authors found that the osmolality of electroporation buffer can have a profound impact on intracellular cGAS-DNA interaction, thereby affecting the activation strength of cGAS-STING pathway in T cells. By adjusting the buffer osmolality, their method showed up to 20-fold CAR-T cell numbers than the commercial electroporation method.
